Lauren R. Rosecan MD

Dr. Rosecan was born in Washington, DC and raised in St. Louis. Growing up the son of a prominent internist and endocrinologist, Dr. Lauren R. Rosecan’s natural predilection toward medicine ensured that his family’s legacy in medicine would continue along with his two brothers who went into psychiatry.

“I was accidentally blinded, crippled, and almost died as a child. The blindness affected me the most and changed my life forever because I prayed to God for help and God heard and answered my prayers. I promised God that I would dedicate my life to save people from blindness and I have kept that promise.”

Dr. Rosecan was a retina surgery fellow & faculty member at the New York Hospital Medical Center where he practiced in Manhattan and West Chester County before moving to Florida in 1987 where he founded the Retina Institute of Florida, his private practice in the diseases, laser, and treatments of the retina.
